About
My name is Noémi Piller, a Hungarian contemporary dance artist, performer, future choreographer and teacher.
Dance has been a part of my life since childhood, and at the age of 15, I knew for sure that I wanted to do it as a professional career. I consider myself a goal-oriented and hard-working person, I believe that this profession requires not only talent but also perseverance and diligence. After university, first I want to fulfil my potential as a performer, then I would like to create my own works and teach the younger generation, where I would like to pass on the idea that anything is possible with diligence, perseverance and faith.
I feel closest to floor technique in dance styles, but I also like more classical techniques. I like to try out acrobatic elements and push my limits. I have worked with actors and musicians in the past year, so I am also interested in creating interdisciplinary performances and expressing emotion through dance. The Dance Tour in my final year of university allowed me to play different characters in the pieces and develop my acting tools.
I enjoy exploring other areas. I am interested in the relationship between technology and dance and I like to experiment with making dance films. I am interested in anatomy and psychology, I think it is important for dancers to be mentally and physically healthy. My undergraduate research is on the relationship between the emotional psychology of dance injuries and Flow as a mental state.
